How much does Claude implementation cost?
Claude subscription costs
Claude for Teams is $30 per user per month, billed annually. Claude Pro is $20 per month for individuals. Claude Enterprise has custom pricing for large organizations with advanced security and admin needs. These are the base subscription costs from Anthropic directly. They cover access to Claude: the model, the interface, and the usage limits your team needs to work at volume.
Implementation is separate
The subscription gives you access to Claude. Implementation is the work of configuring Claude to actually run your workflows: building Claude Skills for your specific processes, connecting Claude to your tools via MCP servers, training your team, and making sure the system holds up in production. That work is done by a Claude Partner or your own technical team.
Most B2B teams underestimate how different these two costs are. The subscription is a commodity: Anthropic charges the same rate regardless of what you do with it. Implementation is where the value gets created or lost, and it varies enormously based on the complexity of what you're automating.
What drives implementation cost
Complexity of the workflows being automated is the biggest driver. A single Skills build for one repetitive task is cheaper than a multi-step agentic system that reasons across multiple data sources and takes actions in several tools. Number of tool integrations also matters: connecting Claude to HubSpot via an official MCP is simpler than building a custom MCP for a proprietary internal system.
The engagement model is the other major variable. Project-based delivery (fixed scope, defined deliverable) costs less than ongoing staff augmentation (hourly, embedded, continuous improvement). And the amount of judgment and reasoning the automation needs to handle reliably affects both build time and testing time. An automation that routes simple requests is faster to build and test than one that reviews contracts and flags material issues.
What to expect from a Claude partner engagement
TEG offers a free training session for B2B teams exploring Claude implementation. It's a practical way to see what a production-grade Claude deployment looks like before you commit to anything. Details at free-training.
What you get for the price
Not just the automation itself. A Claude Partner builds the Skills and MCPs, tests them against your real data and workflows, trains your team on how to use them, and is accountable for the system holding up. That's different from a freelancer who hands you a script and moves on, or a general-purpose agency that treats Claude like any other software tool.
The ongoing accountability is what makes the price defensible. Claude's models update. Your workflows evolve. The integrations need maintenance. A Claude Partner with a retainer relationship owns that maintenance. A one-time build does not.
