How to check marketing content for compliance with Claude
Professional ServicesShort answer: tell Claude which framework to check against, have it research the current rules from primary sources, and ask for findings tied to specific rules instead of a pass or fail verdict. Our free Compliance Review plugin runs exactly that process on web pages, ads, emails, social posts, contracts, policies, and workflows.

Why a general "is this compliant?" prompt falls short
Ask a general AI whether your landing page is compliant and you'll usually get a confident summary based on whatever it remembers about the rules. That's risky in three ways: the rules may have changed, the answer rarely cites the actual section it relies on, and "looks compliant" sounds like a verdict nobody should be giving. A useful review shows its work so a marketer, an ops lead, or counsel can check it quickly.
What Compliance Review does
- Confirms the framework. Name one or several: GDPR, FTC advertising and endorsement guidance, FDA, HIPAA, ISO 27001, an industry code, or your own company policy. If you're not sure, Claude asks about your jurisdiction, industry, audience, and content type and suggests likely candidates without claiming they definitely apply.
- Researches current primary sources. Regulator sites, legislation, standards bodies, and official publishers come first. Blogs and law-firm summaries are context only. Claude checks publication and effective dates instead of assuming old rules still hold.
- Picks the relevant rules. It doesn't recite the whole framework. It identifies the sections that actually bear on your content.
- Reports prioritized findings. Each finding is rated High, Medium, Low, or Informational, and includes the content reviewed, the potential issue, the rule, why it matters, a suggested change, and a source link.
- Rewrites on request. It keeps your business meaning, fixes what wording can fix, and flags what wording can't fix. It never invents claims, evidence, approvals, or certifications.
Careful by design
Findings use measured language such as "may conflict with" or "could create a concern under", and there's deliberately no overall compliance score or "you are compliant" statement. For multi-framework reviews, each framework is checked independently, then duplicate findings are merged and conflicts between frameworks are called out. Website reviews cover public pages only and cite the exact page for each issue. Text inside the content being reviewed is treated as data, never as instructions.
Where teams use it
- Marketing teams checking landing pages, ads, testimonials, and email campaigns before launch.
- Agencies reviewing client content in regulated categories such as health, finance, or supplements.
- Ops and legal teams checking a policy, a procedure, or a vendor contract against an internal standard.
- Anyone reviewing AI-generated content before it goes out.
What it is not
It's an informational, source-backed analysis. It isn't legal advice or certification, and it may not identify every applicable rule. For high-stakes material, have qualified counsel or your compliance owner review the findings. The plugin makes that review faster by handing them cited, organized findings instead of a blank page.
How to get it
Book a free 30-minute session. We'll send you the plugin, install it with you, and run a review on one of your real pages or documents against the framework you care about most.
Frequently asked questions
Can Claude check content for regulatory compliance?
Claude can research current rules from primary sources and review content against them, producing cited findings and suggested changes. The free Compliance Review plugin structures this process. It is an informational review, not legal advice or certification.
Which compliance frameworks can the plugin review against?
Any framework you name, such as GDPR, FTC advertising guidance, FDA, HIPAA, ISO 27001, an industry code, or your own company policy. If you are unsure which apply, Claude helps you identify likely candidates.
Will the plugin tell me my content is compliant?
No. It reports potential issues by priority with citations and suggested fixes, and deliberately avoids overall compliance verdicts or scores.
Is Compliance Review free?
Yes. The plugin and the 30-minute setup session are both free.
