Can job postings power outbound lead generation?
Yes. A job posting is a public buying signal. The company has named a need, set aside budget and started looking for help. A daily workflow can find those postings, identify the hiring manager and draft outreach offering your service as an alternative to the hire.
When a company posts a job, it is telling you what it needs. So I asked: could we turn that signal into an outbound lead generation machine?
I built a workflow to find out. Every weekday, my AI workflow searches Indeed and ZipRecruiter for roles my firm could fill, finds the likely hiring manager, and drafts an email and a LinkedIn message asking if they want to chat.
It is working well. We had two meetings set up this week with interested companies.
How does the job posting lead generation workflow work?
The workflow runs on a schedule and does the legwork a person would skip.
- Search. It searches Indeed and ZipRecruiter for postings that match the work your firm does.
- Filter. It removes roles that are a poor fit, companies that are already competitors, and anyone you have been in touch with before.
- Find the contact. For each company that fits, it uses Apollo to find the likely hiring manager, usually the owner or head of operations at a smaller company.
- Draft. It drafts an email and a LinkedIn message asking if they would be open to a short conversation.
Nothing sends on its own. A person reads every draft and decides who actually hears from you.
Which job postings should your company watch for?
This works for almost any service or product, because almost every service is something a company could otherwise hire for. The exercise is to ask: if a client brought this work in-house, what job title would they post?
- Bookkeeping or accounting firm: bookkeeper, accounts payable clerk, accounting assistant.
- Managed IT provider: IT support specialist, systems administrator, help desk technician.
- Marketing agency: marketing coordinator, content marketer, social media manager.
- Recruiting or HR firm: HR generalist, talent acquisition coordinator.
- Software product: the role that does the manual version of what your product automates, such as operations coordinator or reporting analyst.
Two refinements make the list much better. First, small companies post the same work under many names, so include adjacent titles instead of only the obvious one. Second, contractor, fractional and part-time postings are the warmest. A company advertising for outside help has already accepted that outsourcing the work is fine.
Why does a job posting beat a purchased lead list?
Most outbound works backward. You filter a list by industry and headcount, then guess who might need you. A job posting works forward, because the company has already told you the problem and that it is willing to pay to solve it.
The ask also stays small. The message is an invitation to talk about a scoped alternative to a full-time hire, not a pitch deck. People who are mid-search for a hire are usually happy to hear a second option. For the thinking behind this approach, see how we use hiring signals to find companies ready to buy AI.
How do you set up your own version?
Start with the title list above, because everything else depends on it. Then decide your filters, such as company size, region and roles to exclude. Add a contact lookup so each posting reaches the right person, and write a short message template that names the role they are hiring for and offers a chat. Keep a human review step before anything sends.
We built ours with Claude connected to the job boards and to Apollo, so the same workflow runs every weekday morning without anyone remembering to do it.
Can TEG build this for your company?
Yes. TEG builds this workflow for other companies. We work with you to map your service or product to the job titles worth watching, set the filters, connect the job boards and contact lookup, and write the outreach templates in your voice. We then hand it over running, with a human review step so you approve every message before it sends.

Frequently asked questions
How do job postings generate outbound leads?
A job posting shows that a company has a need, a budget and an active search. A workflow can find those postings each day, identify the likely hiring manager and draft a short message offering your service as an alternative to filling the role. You are reaching out at the moment the company is already looking for help.
Which job postings should my company search for?
Search for the roles your service or product could fill, replace or support. List the job titles your best clients would hire for if they brought the work in-house, then add the adjacent titles small companies use for the same work. Searching only your own category name misses most of them.
Where does the workflow find job postings and contacts?
It searches job boards such as Indeed and ZipRecruiter on a daily schedule, filters out roles and companies that do not fit, and uses Apollo to find the likely hiring manager. At smaller companies that is usually the owner or the head of operations.
Does the workflow send messages automatically?
No. It drafts an email and a LinkedIn message for each qualified company, and a person reads every draft before anything is sent. That keeps the outreach relevant and keeps your name on every message.
Can TEG build a job posting lead generation workflow for my company?
Yes. TEG maps your service to the job titles worth watching, sets the filters, connects the job boards and contact lookup, writes the outreach templates in your voice and hands over a working workflow. A person on your team reviews every message before it sends.
